Summer is almost over in Denmark. I’m gonna miss evenings like this with lots of light.
Pictures are a few weeks old. A picnic after work in the shop with Vilja and Anders. Vilja still talks about that fabulous sausage dinner we had with ‘toasted onions’ -what are they called in English, do you know? Vilja calls them ‘løgkrymmel’ translation = ‘onion sprinkle’ but the real danish words for them is ‘ristede løg’ translation = ‘toasted onions’.
I call them “roasted onions” Both in english as well in danish!
Oh, beautiful pictures – it’s nice to see Anders! I would say roasted onions, but I’m not a native speaker, so not sure if that’s correct.
I would translate it to roasted onions…. or as my children call them: crispy onions :) I agree- it is nice to see Anders. I hope that he is doing well. I am happy that you and he still get along so well. It makes life much easier and better when you can both rejoice and support each other in your new adventures :)
PS: my husband is Swedish and they are called rostad lök- guess the translation comes from there ;)

It’s the little things isn’t it.. And maybe it’s not so much the gourmet sausage as the entire experience of eating out with both of you that has made an impression on her. I agree with everyone else btw.. It’s awesome to see that you and Anders still get along. :D
In the U.S. chopped onions are called “french fried onions.” If they are sliced onions separated into whole rings and fried they are called “onion rings” or “deep fried onion rings.” The onion rings are a staple at outdoor festivals and sports bars (restaurant with multiple televisions.)
